Prosecutors said Cabral saw the girl sitting on some bleachers near a tennis court, approached her and managed to get her to come with him, taking her to numerous locations around the campus as he made sexual advances. The girl managed to get away and reported the incident immediately to college officials, prosecutors said. Cabral was arrested by the college police department July 13, according to Sheriff’s Department records. He posted $25,000 bail and was released early the next day. College officials said they could not comment on specifics of the allegation because it was a personnel matter. LANCASTER – An Antelope Valley College janitor accused of making sexual advances on a 14-year-old girl was ordered Thursday to stand trial. Juan Diego Cabral, 48, who has worked at the college since May 1989, is charged with felony false imprisonment and misdemeanor for annoying or molesting a child. Cabral’s attorney declined to comment. College officials said in August that Cabral had been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation. last_img
